RPO- Production Outsourcing to Process Optimizing?

Are you a cricket fan?  I am sure most of us are . For most of us then RPO shall refer to Runs Per Over. It's a significant correlation to think about too as "RPO" the much spoken about recruitment terminology has a similarity with RPO cricket basics. In cricket RPO measures the productivity & efficiency of the player. In the RPO also it has a lots of correlations to do with productivity of the stake holders and efficiency of the recruitment process. In a highly dynamic global economy ,its also very very important to understand the trend and the change in expectations from the clients perspective when they look for a third party service provider to take over recruitment and process . The basic fundamental question we have to ask our self as a RPO third party Sales/Project Owners is ,is the suspect/prospect/client looking at RPO as " Recruitment Production Outsourcing " or " Recruitment Process Optimizing". I see there is a lots of fundamental diff…

Real Estate to Real State?

Now that every average middle class is celebrating the initiative of demonetization keeping in mind long term benefits I am not sure if they have thought about the following scenario. I am sure at least 50% to 60% of the salaried middle class would have invested their hard earned savings in land/flats etc. I am sure by all practical scenario this industry was dominated by 25-30% cash transaction which significantly determined the Market Price of the property. With this new initiative since existing 500 /1000 Rs reserves are abolished the demand created by this excess cash in the market shall have serious impact on market prices of the properties. Lets assume an average salaried middle class has invested 25 lakhs -30 lakhs in a land or a flat based on market rate @ Rs 1000 /SFT. In that Rs 1000 /SFT ,25%-30% of that demand is purely created by cash transactions and henceforth this shall be significantly reduced as reduced cash flow. The net value of his/her proper shall go down by 25% to …

Will Scrap, Wrap the Crap?

In the last two days I have been hearing ,also experiencing the PM’s Initiative of scrapping the 500 & 1000 Rupees all of a sudden from one night. Like all I too appreciate the courage and intent of our PM who has a vision of taking this nation to the next level .However I have few questions or rather even concerns which I am sure has to be thought about. Will Scraping 500 /1000 lead to legitimacy in the Economy? The following are few points one has to think about ·        BPL: In a country of 1.25 billion population let’s assume roughly BPL category falls close to 50% or forget the percentage of BPL (Though there are different stats)  at least I would say genuinely they are not in the  zone of black money reserves. ·        Middle Class: The salaried and middle class typically people ,let’s talk about average annual earning of Rs 7 lakhs and above definitely has lesser role to play and let’s assume this contributes to  another 25% (Roughly some stats talk about 240 Million) also reason…

Who will cry when you “CRY? > die?”

How did I miss this all these days? I have been travelling in the same route for the past few years. I have never seen this old lady who sits in the corner of the road who sells fresh vegetables in this hot sun along with her little grandson on her lap. From where did she come suddenly?  Have you ever felt situations like this in life? I am sure all would have felt at least once. The reality would have been she would have been there for years more than we have traveled in that route .Trust me though this is an imaginary scene I am sure many such realty scenes we would have experienced in life. What made that one day which made us see that lady and empathize? The reality is human mind shall be able to see and observe the things which concerns to us at that point in time or we could draw some parallels to our life”. All others it easily ignores .With the same empathy towards my friends who I haven’t met for long time ,  I thought let me visit few of my good old friends  who were idle fo…

Optimism > Pessimism?

Too often in the personal, professional life and particularly when we define attitude it’s more likely the needle of the world tilts more towards optimism and it is perceived or at least projected that optimistic people are more valuable than pessimistic people. As a person who doesn’t always like to accept things as it is and challenge the “status quo” I always ask to myself am I not pessimistic when I ask questions in the common forum/meetings why do you think it should happen this way? Challenging the status quo is the "mother of invention". In fact it’s the ability to see or even think beyond the most probable situations keeping the past trend aside. If we start thinking from this angle and relate to the quote “Both optimists and pessimists contribute to society. The optimist invents the aeroplane, the pessimist the parachute” it will give more deeper insights. More often   it may look like optimists are more valuable as the probability for the  need of a parachute is l…

Passion is the "Fashion"

I got an opportunity call two weeks back to conduct "Goal setting & Motivation session" for CSR wing of one of the leading corporate.I know my date fell exactly on last day of a week which I had full of travel .But I know I can manage sometime in airports to organize my thoughts and prepare some basic framework. It was indeed on 4 am on 13th April 2016 in Chennai Airport I slotted 30 minutes . Again on 14th April 2016  @ 7 pm I was able to slot few minutes for draft plan.I landed late night in Chennai and I have to take this session on Friday 15th April 2016, 9 30 am.With all the tiredness and my passion towards student interaction I started the session @ 10 am. I was amazed to see the kind of passion all these 35 students showed in the session. In-fact few didn't even think about lunch and had post session one on one for almost an hour.Few also started interacting with me over phone ,whats app and mail on goals challenges as a good frien. After all these I was just po…

Blended Coffee & Blended Corporate

It was 5 pm and I was craving for a true blended coffee.I walked to the cafeteria and found my colleague there .I thought why not we blend our thoughts along with our blended coffee and the outcome was the term  " Blended Corporate"which just popped up in my mind yesterday night. What does this term means and here it goes .... Most of the management philosophies talk about " Core Competency" and " Focus" as one of the  key to corporate success. For a moment I was thinking deeper on this and found can there be a potential downside on this argument.Interestingly I found in the process of attaining higher profitability  by moving towards core competency and focus ,I was wondering if organisations are too self-oriented  .By this argument I am not saying "core competency or focus" is an ineffective strategy but I am looking at an option of balancing few aspects as well .Every organisation/company is part of a larger industry to which it belongs to in a…

The Competency Myth

I am sure everybody in their life would have had their own wins and losses .One of the most associated term with losses and wins and more precisely in this competitive world is “Competency”. Let’s understand the meaning of the word technically before getting into detail of it .It means the ability to do something successfully or efficiently”.

Either in professional or personal life in this highly competitive world we always win over the other or lose over the other .When we win it’s claimed we are competent and when we lose we are associated with incompetency. The fact is presence or absence of competency at the end of the day is a judgment based on individual or collective decision based on few or set of parameters. The biggest challenge and debate for me is here.Sometimes we are claimed incompetent or competent because the parameters defined are wrong or the assessment or decision may be wrong. I am not here by making this statement criticising, But there is a fundamental logic bas…
